You said YES!! What’s next? A Wedding Day is one of the most special days in a girls life. Every Bride-to-be wants to look and feel her very best on her big day. I have put together some Bridal skincare tips to help you prepare in every way.

I encourage Brides to begin their skincare prep 6 – 8 months in advance of the Wedding to get the best from their skin on the day. The longer you have to target any skin concerns the better!

Chat to your therapist about booking a course of professional facials in the months before the Wedding. This will assist in repairing the skin, target any skin concerns and will also just give you some pamper-time to relax in the midst of all the hectic Wedding Planning! Treatment options can vary from regular purifying facials to resurfacing chemical peels. Chemical peels improve skin texture and provide a new fresh glowing skin. They can effectively treat various skin conditions. Professional treatments will only do so much though, so keep up the good work at home too.

Try to keep to a regular daily skin routine. Make sure the products you are using daily are the best ones for your skin. I was chatting with a client recently about her skin. She complained of skin becoming sensitive and dry in the last while. When I asked about her routine I found she was using a cleanser that was stripping her skin. Sometimes even expensive products can do more harm then good if not suited. While I always recommend getting advice before starting active products, I have listed some general tips to help you in starting a Bridal Skincare Routine. If you need some help with your skin routine then why not book a skin consult with me.

In the morning, an anti-oxidant serum will protect from free radical damage and give a lovely radiant glowing complexion. Always follow with an SPF moisturiserAt night, our skin’s DNA repairs itself as we sleep. Adding an active serum with peptides or Vitamin A to your night-time skin routine can give great results.

Cleansing sets the foundation for good skin. A freshly cleansed face will allow all other skin products to take effect and be absorbed. So, cleanse daily to ensure a flawless make-up application on your Wedding morning.

Exfoliate regularly to maintain fresh healthy skin and ensure a flawless make-up application on your Wedding Day. Not exfoliating causes a build up of dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. These block the absorption of all the lovely expensive serums we apply and can leave you with a dull, lifeless complexion. Their are many different types of exfoliants. You can use a physical scrub or a chemical exfoliant. Chemical exfoliants are becoming increasingly popular. Citric acids, such as lactic acid or glycolic acid, can be introduced to your routine. As long as you don’t over-use them these can give beautiful results. However, over-use or incorrect use can cause irritated and/or dehydrated skin. It’s always best, when introducing active products, to chat to a skin therapist first.

I hope this was helpful. Feel free to get in contact for more advice, to book a skincare consultation or to just let me know how you are getting on with your routine. I love to hear any comments.

Enjoy the big day!
